Workshop

A 100% Volvo accredited workshop was established to ensure the optimal upkeep and maintenance of the fleet. Here a multitude of services are rendered inclusive of truck and trailer maintenance, tyre maintenance and fitting, as well as other customised services that ensures a well maintained, functional fleet.

Our workshop has nine service bays, meaning that we can tend to a total of nine trucks at the same time. In addition to this; our tyre bay has a total of three bays allowing three trucks to be attended to for any tyre- related issues.

Our workshop and technical staff have been accredited by Volvo SA and Scania. Our technical staff are continuously sent on refresher courses ensuring sound product knowledge, which keep them at the forefront of any new product release.

All vehicles and trailers are serviced at regular factory approved intervals, upholding manufacturer’s specifications and warranties. All serviceable vehicles are booked in on a job-card system. A full inspection is done to ensure all issues are addressed, and also functions as a means of doing preventative maintenance.

  • Near miss reports with follow up.
  • Incident reports with follow up
  • Sound paper trail
  • Pre shift inspection

This ensures that the vehicles as well as the trailers, do not exceed the warranty period but in addition, ensures that the fleet is technologically sound thus providing the best logistical solutions the market has to offer.

Workshop Personel

Qualified diesel technicians carry out all the service and maintenance requirements of the entire fleet. These technicians are available seven days a week, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum and all deliveries are made as scheduled.

The Izusa Carriers workshop has threesenior qualified mechanics as well as four technicians each managing a team of two junior technicians. The workshop operates on a shift basis; day and night, which ensures availability of on-site technical support from 06h00 up until 22h00. In addition to this there is a mechanic on standby 24/7 for off-site assistance.

Tyre Depot

Izusa has its own tyre depot managed by a third-party service provider. All tyre maintenance is handled by them as well as the off-site assistance pertaining to any tyre issues. We measure the tyre tread depth on a two-monthly basis through Michelin’s Tyre- Check management system. Through this we ensure that the minimum tread depth allowed is not exceeded and that any tyre issue is identified timeously and rectified accordingly.

Diesel Depot

Izusa has its own diesel depot with four distribution pumps. It has a capacity of storing 150 000 litres of diesel. The diesel depot is available on a 24/7 basis.

Parts Store

Izusa has a fully stocked parts store ensuring the availability of all parts needed for maintenance. The parts store is managed by our own senior buyer and has two store clerks responsible for the issuing and receiving of these parts.

Recycling Policy

A strict recycling policy is followed when it comes to scrap tyres, scrap metal and used oil. Izusa Carriers only makes use of registered recycling businesses for this purpose.
